Undergraduate Courses to Take

The Undergraduate - MS in Accounting Course Equivalents Charts

Special Notes for Different Majors

  • The MS IN TAXATION is only an option for BBA Accounting Majors, CPA Track. For those who choose the MS in Taxation, only one preliminary course is required and that is taken during the undergraduate accounting program. There are no undergraduate equivalents for the 10 courses required in the 30 credit MS in tax. THE CHART OF UNDERGRADUATE-GRADUATE COURSE EQUIVALENTS BELOW IS RELEVANT FOR THE MS IN ACCOUNTING ONLY .
  • For All Majors, Individual Grade Requirements:
    • Please note the minimum grades (usually "B" or "B-") that you must get in each course to waive its graduate equivalent.
    • These grade requirements ARE NOT RELATED TO ADMISSION TO THE MS PROGRAMS. The grades you get determine whether you have to take the graduate equivalent course. A minimum 3.2 overall GPA is the only grade-related admission requirement.
  • For All BBA Students: by taking the courses required in your program you will also be taking the undergraduate equivalents of most of the non-accounting courses in the MS in accounting program.
In addition, non-accounting majors should take
    • ACC 3000 in addition to ACC 2101 to waive ACC 9112,
    • LAW 3102 in addition to LAW 1101 to waive LAW 9800,
    • ECO 4000 or STA 3154 or STA 3155 in addition to STA 2000 to waive STA 9878.
  • For Accounting Majors:
    • Accounting majors can select the MS in taxation or accounting.  If you choose the MS in accounting you should select ACC 4100, Advanced Financial Accounting and ACC 5400H, Auditing (honors). This program outline, 5 Yr. MS Accounting for BBA Accounting/CPA Track, shows your MS in accounting requirements with maximum waivers.
    • Accounting majors, Internal Audit Track, do the MS in accounting. This program outline, 5 Yr. MS Accounting for BBA Accounting/Internal Audit Track shows your MS in accounting requirements with maximum waivers.
  • For All Other Majors: BA or BS, do the MS in Accounting. By taking the undergraduate equivalents of as many MS courses as possible, you can significantly shorten your MS program.
