Part-Time Faculty

Raymond Arons earned his BS (Mechanical Engineering) in 1962 from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and both his MPH (Health Administration) in 1976, and his DrPH (Health Administration) in 1983 from Columbia University. Dr. Arons is a national expert in the study of secondary data sets, and their use for answering a wide range of research questions. He taught "The Use of Large Scale Data Sets," to students from all departments at the Columbia School of Public Health (CSPH) and a variety of schools at the Columbia University. Dr. Arons joined the staff at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1969 and was a member of its administrative staff and faculty for over 30 years, working in a number of capacities including administrative assistant for Medical Affairs and director of the Office of Case Mix Studies.  He has been at Baruch in the Department of Management at the Zicklin School of Business since 1999. He has taught BUS9100, The Business and Environment of Health Care and MGMT9350 Organizational Analysis. Professor Arons, has 32 peer reviewed publications books, and chapters along with 12 grants. Prior to employment at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Dr. Arons was chief data-systems engineer with Grumman Aerospace. He was on the design team of the lunar module rocket engines for the NASA Apollo Space Program.

Elisa Balabram is the founder and editor of WomenandBiz.com, an online magazine for women business owners established in 2003. As a business coach and speaker, she has assisted many entrepreneurs in starting and growing their businesses for the past eight years. Ms. Balabram is the author of Ask Others, Trust Yourself: The Entrepreneurial Woman's Key to Success. She was named the U.S. Small Business Administration New York District 2008 Women in Business Champion of the Year, “For significant contributions to, and dedicated support of, small businesses.” Prior to moving to New York, Elisa Balabram assisted in running her family’s business (Coffee shop and chocolate business). She is also the director of the Women's Brooklyn Enterprise Center at the LDC of East New York. She holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship Management from Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, CUNY, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Shirley D. Bishop is a member of the Management Department’s Part-time Faculty, Shirley D. Bishop is a Senior Professional in Human Resources, SPHR with over fifteen years of progressive experience in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations. Beginning as a student, Shirley has been a member of the Baruch Community since 1997. After earning a BBA degree from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business, she began working in the College’s Human Resources Department. While there she earned an Executive M.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations and graduated with honors. She was also inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society for Business, she served a term as Baruch Chapter President of Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor Society for Management, she published interviews in three editions of The MSILR Link Alumni/Student Newsletter and she served on the ZSB Service Excellence Initiative Task Force.

In addition to her service at Baruch College, Shirley D. Bishop was the Senior Director of Human Resources for two nonprofit agencies. She worked in the capacity of Labor Designee, Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Office Services for community based organizations. She also served as a Governing Board Member and Business Advisor for a start-up healthcare agency and was instrumental in the establishment of a carpet installation business.

Thomas M. Bock has been an Adjunct Professor of Management at Baruch College since 2002. Thomas is also a Senior Professor at the Keller Graduate School of Management, New York. He holds a B.A. from Indiana University in Slavic Languages, a B.S. in Accounting from Marywood University, Pennsylvania, An M.B.A. in Management and Finance from Fordham University, and a Ph.D. from Touro University International where he majored in Business Administration. He has taught at a number of colleges and universities in the US, as well as in Istanbul, Turkey, Moscow, Russia, and London, England.

In 2008, Dr. Bock received the Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Teaching at Baruch College. Prior to beginning his teaching career, Thomas worked in a variety of accounting and finance positions in the magazine publishing business, including stints at Hearst Magazines, Acorn Publishing, and Los Angeles Times Publishing.

Herbert R. Brinberg has been an Adjunct Professor of Management at Baruch College since 1989. He holds a B.A. from Cornell University, an M.S. from Columbia Business School and a Ph.D. from New York University where he majored in economics and management. He is the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University as a “pioneer in the vanguard of the information age.”

Prof Brinberg is President of Parnassus Associates International, a consulting firm specializing in business strategy, organization planning and mergers and acquisitions.

Before establishing Parnassus Associates, he was President and CEO of Wolters Kluwer U.S. Corporation, a subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer NV of the Netherlands. He built Wolters Kluwer U.S. from a small start-up into a leading developer of full text search and retrieval systems and publisher of books, journals and on-line information services for professionals in health care administration, business management, law and medicine.

Dr. Brinberg is Chair of the Business Advisory Council of the Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute at Baruch College and Chair of the Board of Advisors, School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. He has been a member of the Cornell University Council and a founding member and past president of The Software and Information Industry Association.

Stephen Brown is Professor of Management within the Business School at the University of Exeter. He joined Exeter in 2004 from the School of Management at University of Bath, where he had led the Operations Management Group. He has been involved in a number of funded research activities. He is a Visiting Professor to Baruch College, City University, New York and is also Visiting Professor at TiasNIMBAS in Holland, as well as Sussex and Southampton Universities in the UK. He is featured in European Who's Who publication. He is Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, which is the leading publication on operations management in Europe and in the top three in the world in the subject.

Dr. Brown's management experience was gained in both the public and private sectors including large and SME organizations. He is actively involved in consulting in a range of organizations in the manufacturing and service sectors.

Jerry Cahn is an Adjunct Professor of Management at Baruch, where he addresses business strategy, leadership development and entrepreneurial communications (sales and negotiations). He has a Ph.D. in Social/Personality Psychology from CUNY and a J.D. from New York Law. Passionate about education, he has taught for 20+ years. In addition, he has supervised over 500 interns.

Dr. Cahn has 25+ years of business and organization development experience, helping clients address sales, marketing and management challenges. Today, he serves as the president of Presentation Excellence, a strategic communications and management consulting firm; he’s also the Managing Director for Leader Connections and Chair of Vistage New York (ww.vistagenewyork.com).

Cynthia Clark, an adjunct lecturer of Management at Baruch College, City University of New York, since 1998, is a summa cum laude graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ, and holds her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.

In addition to her adjunct teaching commitment to Baruch College and its students, Ms. Clark is the founder and President of Career Quest Coaching, a career coaching boutique specializing executive coaching and in working with individuals in transition.  Prior to establishing Career Quest Coaching, Ms. Clark held management positions at Deloitte Touche and served as a Vice President of JP Morgan Chase.

Ms. Clark is a certified as both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Myers-Briggs practitioner.  She is also a member of the following organizations: Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches, and the International Coach Federation.

George L. De Feis has over 25 years of academic (and not-for-profits), professional (corporate), and practical experience, covering the fields of management, education, association management (conference and exhibit), international affairs, and engineering.  He has consulted to the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds, and to academia.  De Feis is currently ABD (as of 1/20/2012) in pursuit of his doctorate in management, with a focus on marketing and international business, at Pace University in New York.  His dissertation involves “alliance sustainability” vis-à-vis “cohesiveness” of alliance partners and “goal achievement” of the customer.  As well, he possesses an M.B.A. in finance (1987) from Bernard M. Baruch College (CUNY), and a B.E. in civil engineering (1982) from The Cooper Union.

He was executive director of the U.S. Chess Federation, Concrete Industry Board, and the American Management Association's Operation Enterprise.  De Feis has published and presented articles on management and professional practice, not-for-profit management, global business issues, course development, distance learning, technology and sustainable development at a variety of venues, including: Academy of Management, Eastern AOM, UN Global Compact, IAMOT, and various American Society of Civil Engineers peer-reviewed journals, etc.  His current interests include strategy and competitive advantage, decision making, marketing, international business, education (hybrid and distance learning), engineering, and not-for-profit issues.

His course specialties are Global Business Strategy, Management & Organizational Behavior, Business Policy and Strategy, Managerial & Organizational Concepts, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, International Business, Project Management, Entrepreneurism, and Management Science, for which he has written a book:  Management Science: A Practical Approach For Today’s Business Management Student (Thomson/Cengage 2007, 2nd Edition).

Monica Dean is the Administrative Director of the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship and is an adjunct lecturer in the Zicklin School of Business. Ms. Dean has over 20 years of professional business experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Her experience includes six years as a consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton and six years as a senior manager with the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, a national not-for-profit founded in 1994 by Harvard Business School Professor Michael E. Porter. Ms. Dean holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and a degree in civil engineering from Howard University. She has a number of publications and workshops to her credit, served as a panelist at several major business conferences and has spoken on urban business issues before various academic and business groups nationwide.

Matthew J. DeLuca is a graduate of Fairfield University (B.A.) and the University of Pittsburgh (M.P.A.). He is currently President of the Management Resource Group, Inc., an HR consulting, recruiting, and executive coaching firm. Recent clients include Montefiore Medical Center, Associated Estates Realty Corporation, Lifetime Entertainment, Dutchess Land Conservancy, and the Episcopal Church.

Mr. DeLuca has developed seminars for senior and midlevel officials at the NY Department of Labor, Social Security Administration, The Republic of China and for a group of HR professionals in Santiago, Chile. In addition to consulting, he has held HR positions of increasing responsibility with The Institute of Local Government, University of Pittsburgh, US Army (Vietnam), Chemical Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), Bank Hapoalim, B.M., The Bank of Tokyo Group, The World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment), Inc., Flipside/Uproar.com, a unit of Vivendi Universal, CMO, a unit of Montefiore Medical Center, and Village Care of New York.

David Falk received his M.B.A. in Finance from St. John’s University. He is the Chief Operating Officer, as well as the Director of Human Resource Training at Finance One, Ltd., a mortgage broker. He has also served as Vice President of Portfolio Operations and Property Management at Commercial Equities, Inc. of Long Island, and an Account Manager at Avis Leasing Corp.

Mr. Falk has been an Adjunct Lecturer at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College since 1994. He advises the Baruch College student chapter of Society for Human Resource Management. He has also taught at many colleges and universities including St. John’s University, Hofstra University, Berkeley College and Empire State College.

Mr. Falk is currently a doctoral candidate at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. His concentration is in Management, Adult Higher Education, and Workplace Training. He is doing research on the relationships between diversity fault lines, intra-team conflicts and the performance of student teams using competitive, team-based, computerized business simulations.

David Florman earned his M.B.A. from the Baruch College-Mount Sinai School of Medicine Graduate Program in Health Care Administration. He is currently the President of DFI Consulting, Ltd, a boutique consulting firm serving the health care marketplace which specializes in health care business planning, payer contract negotiation, strategic assessment/positioning, operational performance, organizational/process improvement, managed care strategy, business development, benchmarking analysis and executive coaching.

He has 30+ years of broad professional experience in the health care industry. He has held senior executive positions in the healthcare provider sector with community hospitals and key academic medical centers as well as leadership roles in the payer/insurance community. He has also served on the boards of several community-based and philanthropic organizations and currently serves as a Director of Metropolitan Health Networks, a Florida-based health care company.

Josh Friedlander is a consultant, personal coach, and lecturer. He is currently on the faculty of Baruch College and the Metropolitan College of New York. He specializes in team building, cross-generational communication, new hire assimilation, career counseling, organizational behavior, business ethics, international business, training and development, and human resources.

Mr. Friedlander has 20+ years experience in Corporate Human Resources with an emphasis on the integration of Human Resources as a strategic business partner. Currently, as a Managing Director with Marsh Inc, he manages the global Human Resources activities for several business units and functions. Previously, Mr. Friedlander was the Vice President of Human Resources and Relationship Management for OnlineBenefits, Inc.

Mr. Friedlander earned a Masters Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. In addition, Josh has a General Course Certificate from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Previously, Mr. Friedlander was on the Board of Directors of the Cornell ILR School Alumni Association and the New York City Chapter of the Human Resources Planning Society. Currently, Josh is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Professional Staff Congress.

Francesco R. Frova is a Doctoral student and Adjunct Lecturer in the department of Management, which he joined in 2011. His research interest focuses on a few areas of Organizational Behavior and IHRM: Global Mindset, Global Leadership, Cultural Intelligence, Boundaryless Careers and Cross Cultural Management.

He was the first Italian to complete the joint degree of International Management from Catholic University of Milan, Italy, and from ESB Business School of Reutlingen, Germany - holding an Italian B.B.A. in International Management, a German BWL Diplom in International Management, and an Italian Master of Science in International Management. He also holds a Master in Research in Economics and Business from Pontifical University of Comillas, in Madrid, Spain.

Mr. Frova has been working in different positions in Multinational and SMEs around Western Europe, extensively working and living in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and France. This variety of environments eventually led him to being professionally fluent in English, Spanish, German and French, besides his mother language Italian - and he is currently working on his Japanese.

Dr. S. Jimmy Gandhi is an associate adjunct professor at Baruch College and also teaches at Stevens Institute of Technology. Dr. Gandhi teaches courses in Service Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Project Management and Total Quality Management. His Research interests include globalization, risk management of global sourcing projects and understanding sustainability of the global supply chain. He is also currently co-authoring 2 books on Risk Management and case studies in systems engineering which will be published in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Dr. Gandhi is an active member of the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM) and The American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) and participates in their conferences as well as is a reviewer for both organizations.

Sara Grant holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from New York University. She is currently a consultant providing management development services, primarily for nonprofits. Besides teaching at Baruch College, she also teaches courses in management and organizational behavior at New York University. She worked for TIAA-CREF in their Human Resources Department providing HR services to the Investment Management Division. She served as the Director of Training for Girl Scouts of the USA and has administered Adult Basic Education Programs for a school system in Western Pennsylvania. Currently, she serves on the Admissions Committee at New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

James R. Grayshaw received his J.D. from Brooklyn School of Law. He worked for Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft Esqs. in Litigation and Antitrust before becoming a judge in the New York State court system for almost 25 years. He is currently in private practice specializing in litigation and real estate. He is the author of “Drafting Stipulations of Settlement”, Finkelstein, Ferrara & Trieman’s Landlord-Tenant Newsletter, May 2004, as well as thousands of trial decisions. He is a frequent lecturer at the Queens Bar Association on Landlord & Tenant matters.

Rawle Hamilton received his B.B.A. from Baruch College and his M.B.A. from St. Johns University. He has been teaching at Baruch College since January 2005. He has over thirteen years of financial services experience, having previously worked at TIAA-CREF in the areas of pension and annuity services, counseling, and compliance. Some of his duties included counseling participants on retirement products and managing the agent licensing process in the broker-dealer individual and institutional services in the Western Service Center (Denver, CO). He currently works at Signature Bank/Signature Securities Group in the compliance department as an Anti-Money Laundering Officer and is a registered representative of Signature Securities Group. He carries the professional designation of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.

Leigh Henderson first began teaching for the City University of New York (CUNY) in 1990 as an Adjunct Instructor in the Marketing Department at New York City Technical College. She continued her CUNY career as an Instructor in Baruch College’s Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) program. In 2001, she was recruited as a Consultant to co-design and also deliver a Train-the-Trainer program to improve the classroom effectiveness of instructors at CAPS. Starting in 2005, she was invited to speak for classes at Zicklin and student events at Baruch. Ms. Henderson became an Adjunct Lecturer of Management in the Zicklin School of Business in the fall of 2008 and in her teaching role earned Baruch’s Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Teaching in the spring of 2011.

She is Managing Director of Leadership Training Room, LLC, a consulting and coaching firm she founded in 2000. Her focus is on helping leaders level the playing field of obstacles blocking optimum performance and career advancement. She also provides mentor coaching to recent college graduates.

Ms. Henderson is a sought after keynote speaker and seminar leader on the changing culture of organizations for professional, corporate, and academic audiences including Business & Professional Women International, the American Association of University Women, the National Association of Women MBAs, the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and the Employee Assistance Professionals Association.

As Editor of Spyglass, Shattered Magazine’s e-newsletter, Ms. Henderson interviewed corporate executives for this global business publication. She was also a Contributing Writer for PINK Magazine, a national publication targeted to professional women. A graduate of the Executive Coach Academy, Ms. Henderson holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and a M.Ed. from Boston State College. Her current and past volunteer activities include serving as Co-Chair of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association-Women’s Issues Committee; Career Coach at The Connections Place, a job preparedness program for those with borderline personality disorder; and Adviser to a non-profit in New Orleans still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

Corrington Hwong is a Lecturer in the Management Department at Baruch College. He received an A.B. from Providence College, an M.M.S. in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, an M.A.T. from the College of New Jersey, and an I.E.D. in Industrial Economics from Columbia University. He has also taught at the College of New Jersey, Middlesex County Community College, Philadelphia University, and Villanova University.

Mr. Hwong is currently a Principal for Nassau-Orange Corporation. He has worked for Security Pacific Leasing as a District Marketing Officer, and as the President of TigerTown Software. He has also worked for Citibank, Merrill Lynch and Bell System.

Mr. Hwong has been published many times. His most recent publications are “Advertizing in the Montessori World,” The Montessori Foundation, “What’s Wrong With American Public Schools: Taboo Topics of The Sociology of American Education,” and “Statistical Analysis of NCAA Division I Institution Graduation Rates and the Implications for the Allocation of Higher Education Resources,” Northeast Education Research Association.

Bernard Iatauro received his M.B.A. from St. John's University in Executive Management. He continued his education at Lehigh University studying Labor Management History, Spatial Economics and Business Policy. He is in the ABD stage of his Doctorate at NYU. He has been a full-time professor for the last 35 years, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition to his professorial duties, he has consulted for several major U.S. corporations, including Federal Express, Systems Control and Passiac County Sewerage Commissioners Authority. He carries the professional designation of Certified Professional Consultant to Management (CPCM).

Mr. Iatauro has also lectured for The American Management Association, The Employer’s Association of New Jersey, The American Society for Personnel Administration and The Society for Human Resource Management. He is currently teaching both graduate and undergraduate students from Europe who are spending several months in New York City studying with U.S. teachers while completing internships.

Jonatan Jelen is an entrepreneur and an international consultant for complex information technology-intensive firms in NYC, China, and Croatia. He is Assistant Professor of Design & Management and the Co-Director of the Online MS in Design Entrepreneurship at Parsons The New School for Design. He is also Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU/Stern, Baruch College, CCNY, Polytechnic University, Yeshiva University, Hofstra University. He is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and in the Department of Entrepreneurship, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Since 2002, he has been concentrating his research on the ‘Theory of the Firm’ with three books nearing completion.

Mr. Jelen earned his J.D. from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. He earned MBAs from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, and Baruch College. He also received LL.Ms from University of Paris II, Panthéon-Assas, Fordham University School of Law, and Université de Pau, where he also earned his first Ph.D. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Business-Computer Information Systems at Baruch College/GSUC. He is also working towards his Doctorate of Laws with the University of South Africa and his D.B.A. with Edinburgh Business School of Heriot Watt-University.

Stefanie Kohn received her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University. She is certified in ROI methodology by the American Society for Training & Development. Dr. Kohn has been employed at Turner Broadcasting System since 2000, starting as a trainer and serving since 2007 as an HR generalist. Prior to working for Turner, Dr. Kohn worked in human resources for Arista Records and Grey Advertising, Inc. Her current research interests relate to the impact of choice and training course descriptions on training evaluation and effectiveness.

Edward B. Kurpis is a 14-year veteran of NBC in New York, and is credited with being the co-founder/co-developer of CNBC, the premiere world-wide business network today.

Kurpis served as Vice President for NBC’s Business Development division where his strategic and management expertise directly led NBC’s growth from a traditional broadcast television company into a dynamic, fully integrated global media entity. Among his noteworthy media accomplishments, Kurpis developed the original business plans leading to the launch of CNBC, is considered a chief strategic architect in the creation of MSNBC, and led the development of the publicly traded digital media company NBC Internet. He was also named CFO for a number of prominent new media ventures, including for the 1992 Summer Olympics (Barcelona).

Kurpis has also served as a media investment advisor to GE Capital, and held senior management positions at RCA Corporation, Evercore Partners, and Comerica Bank. Kurpis is also an Executive Consultant for the American Management Association, with clients which include Philips NV, Prudential Financial, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Ray LaManna owns a human resources consulting firm, specializing in employee relations, training and coaching. Prior to establishing his firm, he served as Director of Human Resources with Parish of Trinity Church and Integrated Resources Inc., a diversified financial services firm. He also held HR positions at Wells Fargo Bank and JP Morgan Chase.

As a member of the Graduate Faculty of New York Medical College’s School of Public Health, Mr. LaManna teaches organizational theory, human resources, change management and employee relations. For 8 years, he chaired the Business Administration Department at Berkeley College.

Mr. LaManna holds advanced degrees in Theology, Psychology and Adult Education and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Adult and Continuing Education Program at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Mr. LaManna has also been National Chairperson of the Management Practices Committee for the Society for Human Resource Management and guest speaker on HR and management issues and has life certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Margaret (Peggy) Sipser Leibowitz is a visiting professor in Labor and Employment Law at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, MI where she has taught for the past two years. She was a full-time extension faculty member at Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations (ILR) for 25 years teaching labor law, employment law and dispute resolution (collective bargaining, mediation and arbitration). She received teaching awards from ILR and Cornell.

Ms. Leibowitz is an adjunct professor at NY Law School, Teacher’s College, Columbia University and the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY. Since 1981, she has served as an arbitrator and mediator of labor-management disputes in private and public employment. She is a panel member of the American Arbitration Association, the NYS Public Employment Relations Board, the NYC Office of Collective Bargaining and the NJ State Board of Mediation. She also served as an Administrative Law Judge and Mediator at the NYS Division of Human Rights. She earned a BS at ILR and a JD at New York University School of Law.

Louis Lipani is a second year PhD student in Organizational Behavior at Baruch College; his research interests include leadership, teams, and emotion at work.  Previously Louis worked in both financial and managerial roles, most recently at Morgan Stanley in equity research.  Louis received his B.S.B.A. degree (summa cum laude) from Georgetown University, and his MBA from Stanford University.

Raghavan Parthasarthy is an Associate Professor of Management at Baruch College since 1997. He holds a B.A. (Honors), M.A degrees from Madras University, an M.B.A from Suffolk University, and a Ph.D. in Business Policy & Strategy from Baruch College (CUNY). He is a recipient of Baruch’s Best Doctoral Dissertation Award.

Dr. Parthasarthy focuses his research on Competitive Strategy, especially the resource-based view of competitive advantage. His scholarly papers have appeared in the Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Advances in High Technology Management, and Journal of Engineering and High Technology Management. He has authored a textbook titled, “Fundamentals of Strategic Management”, published by Houghton Mifflin in 2007 and two Monographs on Strategic Management.

Dr. Parthasarthy is also a principal partner at Strategy Consulting Group, in which capacity he has provided consultancy services to AT&T, BSNL, Ford Motor Company, Punjab Agro Industries, State Government of Punjab, and C&E New Media on strategy initiatives.

Peter B. Pepper is a labor consultant. He was recently designated by New York City’s Municipal Labor Committee and appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg as an alternate labor member of the Board of Collective Bargaining. He plays an active role at the bargaining table in union administration, grievance and arbitration advocacy, and training for unions in both the private and public sectors. Since 1997, Mr. Pepper has been a Lecturer in Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining at Baruch College, CUNY.

Mr. Pepper holds an M.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University / Baruch College, CUNY. For seven years he served as a Federal Agent with the National Labor Relations Board.

In June 2004, Mr. Pepper was elected the National President of the Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring. He served on the Board of the Forward Association, and several other not-for-profit organizations.

Richard Raymond is an adjunct lecturer teaching Family Business Management in the Entrepreneurism Program, Department of Management. In addition he is an adjunct faculty member at New York University where he teaches a business start-up class. He holds a B.S. from the University of the Pacific, a M.S. from Humboldt State University in natural resource management, and is also a trained executive coach.

He is president of Richard Raymond Associates, Inc., a consulting, coaching and mentoring organization specializing in entrepreneurial leadership, small business organizational development, family business relationship management, and professional leadership development. Their primary client base is construction industry businesses ranging in size from regional firms with 15 employees to multi-nationals organizations with several thousand employees.

Before starting Richard Raymond Associates, he was president of Coastal Consultants, an environmental management business, which he started, grew, and sold. In addition, he was Assistant Director of the New York State Legislative Commission on Science and Technology.

He was also Executive Director of the New York State Marine Education Association and BrooklynWorks - both not-for-profit organizations whose formation he spearheaded. He is a senior advisor to SynchroMind, a leadership development company, and is on the Board of Trustees of the American Littoral Society.

Ali Sadighian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at The City University of New York (CUNY) Baruch College as well as the School of Business and Information Systems at (CUNY) York College, where he teaches Production and Operations Management; Operations Management and Advanced Statistics. His current research interests are revenue management, operations management, supply chain management and game theory.  He received his B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and MBA from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and holds and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Operations Research from Columbia University in the City of New York. He has also previously taught Production/Inventory Planning and Control and currently teaches Industrial Economics and Advanced Engineering & Corporate Economics at the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department at Columbia University.

Stephen M. Sivakoff is an Adjunct Lecturer in Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management of the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, The City University of New York. Prior to joining Baruch College as an adjunct lecturer, Stephen was Entrepreneur in Residence and Adjunct Professor at New York University / Polytechnic Institute, where he taught coursework in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Capital.

Stephen has over 25 years experience in the on-line media industry and is a pioneer in the field of secure digital data distribution. He continues to be an active early stage investor, helping to direct corporate strategy and business development at start up technology companies with a focus on Internet information technology. He received his B.A. from Columbia College in the City of New York where he majored in Economics and Urban Studies.

Abe D. Tawil is a founding partner of Helix Management Consulting, LLC, an independent contract mediator for the EEOC, USPS, EDNY and IPRO, as well as serves as the Executive Director of Hillel at Baruch. He is a founder of the Certificate in Conflict Management at NYU and a founder of Leadership in Law at Columbia University. He is also an Associate Professor at Cardozo School of Law.

In the past, Professor Tawil has been an Interim Chief Human Resource Officer, an Associate Dean for Professional Education/ Director of Continuing Studies at Baruch College, an Executive Director HR and Special Projects for CONWAY Organization, an EVP of HR and Development/ COO for Script's Pharmacies, an Associate Physician/ Director Medical Education at USVI, a Co-Founder of the University of St. Lucia School of Medicine, and a contributing consultant of ‘MD Pearls’.

Philip Tulimieri has over 30 years of experience as a business executive and as a partner at Deloitte in the United States. He is an experienced international lawyer who has led numerous cross border due diligence exercises both pre- and post acquisition. He holds a Juris Doctor from Union University and he is a retired officer in the US Armed Forces.
